  • Does the Minfo Universal App collect personal data?
    The app collects minimal personal data necessary to provide and improve services. This may include device information and, if you choose to create an account, basic personal details. Please refer to our Privacy Policy within the app for comprehensive information.
  • How does the Minfo Universal App work?
    The app uses AudioQR technology to detect inaudible ultrasonic signals embedded in media content and Minfo Zones (not conversations). When you're near a Minfo-enabled media source, the app picks up these signals and delivers relevant information, offers, or interactive experiences straight to your device without interrupting your viewing or listening experience.
  • What is Minfo Web Connect?
    Minfo Web Connect is a browser-based alternative for those who want an alternative to downloading the full Minfo app or lack the 40MB of space. It lets users interact with Minfo-enabled content via a web browser, providing a lightweight way to access offers, links, and media. While it supports key interactive features, WebConnect doesn't connect to Minfo Zones in public spaces. No account is needed, but logging in allows for a more personalized experience. WebConnect is ideal for trying Minfo quickly and upgrading to the full app later if desired.
  • What is the Minfo Universal App?
    The Minfo Universal App is an innovative mobile application that transforms traditional media and public places, making them interactive. Using our patented AudioQR technology, the app lets you easily connect with content from television, cinema, radio, digital signboards, in all sorts of public places (Minfo Zones) via Minfo QR codes and Minfo Smartlinks that are more secure than current methods, directly to your smartphone.
  • What is AudioQR technology?
    AudioQR is Minfo's patented technology that transmits data using ultrasonic sound waves. These high-frequency signals are inaudible to the human ear and safe for animals but can be detected by the app through your device's microphone, enabling seamless content delivery and interaction.
  • How do I download and install the Minfo Universal App?
    For iOS Users: Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad. Search for "Minfo" Tap "Get" to download and install the app. For Android Users: Open the Google Play Store on your Android device. Search for "Minfo" Tap "Install" to download and install the app.
  • What are the system requirements for the app?
    iOS Devices: iOS version 11.0 or later. Android Devices: Android version 6.0 (Marshmallow) or later. Web Browser, Go to www.app.minfo.com Note - a functional microphone and internet connection are required for optimal performance.
  • Is the Minfo Universal App free to use?
    Yes, the Minfo Universal App is free to download and use. Some content or offers accessible through the app may require payment, but you are always control.
  • Can I use the app without an internet connection?
    Partially. Minfo can still connect with the AudioQR signal while offline, but it will not be able to display the linked content until your internet connection is restored. Once you're back online, simply open the History section in the app (swipe right), and tap the most recent Minfo entry that did not load. The page will then update with the correct content.
  • Which media sources are compatible with Minfo?
    Television and Connected TV (CTV) even YouTube Cinemas Radio Broadcasts Digital Signboards and Billboards Online Videos and Streaming Services Public Address Systems
  • Do I need to create an account to use the app?
    No, creating an account is optional. However, registering allows you to personalize your experience, save preferences, receive tailored content and offers and receive entries into promotions.
  • How do I set up the Minfo Universal App after installation?
    Launch the App: Open the app on your device. OR Open Browser: Type in www.app.minfo.com the App. Permissions: Grant the necessary permissions when prompted: Microphone Access: Allows the app to detect AudioQR signals. Location Access (Optional): Enhances content relevance based on your location. Create an Account (Optional): You can create an account to personalize your experience, but it's not mandatory. Tutorial: Follow the in-app tutorial to familiarize yourself with the features.
  • How do I connect with media using Minfo?
    Open Minfo: When you launch the app, it automatically starts in "Single Connect" mode. It is ready to connect with the first Minfo-enabled media or nearby Minfo Zone in a public space. Stay Within Range: Make sure you are close enough to hear the audio from Minfo-enabled content such as TV, radio, or YouTube. In a public space a Minfo Zone has a range of circa 10 meters / 30 feet. Automatic Connection: The app will detect the AudioQR signal and display the linked content on your screen. No need to scan or search. Explore and Interact: Tap on the content to view more information, follow social links, redeem offers, enter promotions, or access bonus experiences.
  • Does the app support second-screen experiences?
    Minfo provides second-screen experiences by delivering interactive content to your smartphone while you watch or listen to media on another device, like a TV, cinema or radio.
  • What kind of content can I receive through the app?
    Additional Information: Extended details about programs, products, places and/or services – in general, any information the creator wants to convey to you. Exclusive Offers: Special promotions, discounts, or coupons. Interactive Experiences: Quizzes, polls, or games related to the media content. Shoppable Content: Direct links to purchase products featured in the media.
  • How does the app enhance my media experience?
    The Minfo Universal App adds a powerful interactive layer to your media experience without disrupting what you're watching or listening to. With a single tap, you can instantly access more information, explore related content, unlock exclusive offers, make a purchase, or take part in live promotions, all in real time, directly from your smartphone. Minfo transforms passive moments into meaningful interactions, giving you more value from every broadcast, ad and public space where you encounter a Minfo logo, Powered by Minfo logo or decal.
  • Can I customize the type of content I receive?
    Yes. With Minfo, you are always in control. Unlike other apps that push content or ads at you, Minfo uses a fully opt-in approach. You only receive content when you choose to connect using the app. By creating an account and updating your preferences in the app settings, you can further personalize your experience and manage notifications based on your interests.
  • Can I use the app anonymously?
    Yes, you can use the app without creating an account. In this mode, the app will not collect personal information, but some features may be limited.
  • Does the Minfo Universal App collect personal data?

You are always in control of what you choose to connect to and what data you share. You can review and manage your privacy settings at any time within the app. Our opt-in approach ensures your experience remains secure, respectful, and free from unwanted tracking.
  • The app isn't detecting any content. What should I do?
    Check Permissions: Ensure the app has permission to access your device's microphone. Volume Levels: Increase the volume of the media source if possible. Proximity: Move closer to the Minfo-enabled media source. Internet Connection: Verify your device is connected to the internet. Restart the App: Close and reopen the app to reset the listening mode.
  • The app is running slowly or crashing. What can I do?
    Update the App: Ensure you have the latest version installed. Close Background Apps: Other apps may be consuming resources. Restart Your Device: A simple reboot can resolve temporary issues. Reinstall the App: Uninstall and reinstall the app if problems persist.
  • I encountered a technical issue or bug. How can I report it?
    You can report issues directly through the app: Go to Settings > Support > Report a Problem. Provide a detailed description of the issue. Submit the report; our support team will address it promptly. Alternatively, you can email our support team at support@minfo.com or complete the form below.
